While I was away for a few days, spring arrived in my garden. There was something magical about this: I arrived home and suddenly bare branches were covered in color and birds were singing. The garden as a metaphor for the world: filled with new potential.
I have been standing on the threshold of new potential for several months now, musing about ways to harness the power of social media to reach out to more people, to share bits of wisdom and insight. And with the spring, came the opportunity I had been looking for. A Dutch journalist I had met during a seminar, Lizzy de Wilde, posted an offer for blog coaching on Facebook. This was exactly what I needed. Why should I think up everything by myself? And so, with her help, I am bringing new energy into this blog. From now on, my blog will appear weekly in both English and Dutch.
Often we stand on thresholds like this, wanting to take a step but not quite sure how. Sometimes the best thing to do, is to ask for help. Or accept help where it is offered. It often appears right when you need it. Have faith in that. And it may just be the impulse you need to start down that new path you want to go. Once you’ve taken the first step, the rest will take care of itself. And keep listening to that small voice inside you that tells you that you’re on the right path.
Have you been standing on the threshold of something new, waiting to get started? Please share your experiences and thoughts on this page, I would love to help.
